No more toys

I have sold off most of my toys. I'm in the process of consolidating them to one product. Now all I need to do is wait for Rogers, Telus or Bell to carry it and I'm in business.

What do you talk about when you're bored?

At work we talk about the life expectancy of food.

Nigel - "How often do you actually eat left overs anyhow."
Dave - "I know. If I had a dog, he'd eat like a king!"

lmao. Damn I'm bored.

Apple Mayhem

What's going on with these bad ibooks? Looks like my co-workers keep running into problems with their ibooks.

HD. How can you go back?

I now only watch 6 channels on my television. I may sound pretentious, but I can't bare to turn on a regular digital channel. I use to be OK with it, but after watching a HD football game in 16:9 format in 5.1 how on earth can you watch a fuzzy 4:3 rerun of friends? I have truely spoiled my at home entertainment.

Puretracks vs. iTunes

As you are probably aware, the iTunes store is now available in Canada. This is great news for us as our only real alternative for $0.99 music was puretracks. If you're like me, tired of downloading music at various bit rates, dealing with corrupt files and you welcome alternative browsers like mozilla, then this will be exciting news for you as well. I was quite disappointed with puretracks for a number of reasons. For one, you can only view their site with Internet Explorer. How ghetto is that? Here's the message you get when viewing with firefox.
We value our Mac audience, however the Windows Media player for the Mac platform is not currently compatible with Microsoft protected audio content. Puretracks is currently working to make our service available to Mac users.
I suspect that puretracks wasn't prepared for the introduction of itunes store to the Canadian market. Now, I suspect, they will suffer the consequences. Licensing is another issue that I have with Puretracks/Microsoft. I think Apple got it right with the ability to 'authorize' and, more importantly, 'deauthorize' up to five computers to play your purchased music.

Hacking the Mac

I suppose that once the market share for Apple increases we'll see more sites dedicated to mac exploits and vulnerabilities. This is the best site that I've come across so far (found off kevinrose.com). If you know of any other good ones, please post away.

Smallville...the episode continues

Well, I don't have much to add except that this episode is all over the
place. Lex dreaming about destroying the world and walking around in
the ruins in his clean white suit...by himself. It makes no sense at
all. Thank God for the other TV series that I discovered such as Lost,
Battlestar Galactica and Spooks.

Actually, the real reason that I'm writting this post is to test the
email posting in blogger. Lets see what happens.

Apple Powerbook

Not to be outdone by the Sheridan boys, I've decided that it's time to make the move to Apple. It's an exciting time to be an apple guy. The ipod is selling like hotcakes which is increasing sales for the, now more affordable, ibook laptop.

I also found an interesting post predicting the direction that IBM may be taking now that they have sold off their PC business.

Check it out.

Smallville

Well, why not start my blog with one of my favorite shows. Here I sit watching a new episode and wonder how many times the writers believe that we'll fall for the Lana/Clark relationship.

This particular episode starts with Lana confessing that she has always loved him. Immediately the viewer is alerted to the fact that this is a dream. They must stop crying wolf for us to believe that it's possible. We need more to this story. Where's batman???
